Online Design (UK) is the creation of Kevin Clarke, an award winning portrait & wedding photographer based in Derby, who was in need of a business website some 8 years ago but ran into two areas of difficulty: Firstly, the cost of getting a professional website designed and built seemed to be beyond the reach of most ‘small to medium’ or start up businesses like ours was at that time and secondly, the apparent lack of good, honest, down to earth advice led to increased frustration.

So, as with others in a similar position at that time, we set about designing and building our own site, falling into ALL the pitfalls along the way! It was a long and difficult task to be honest, as back then, web authoring software was in it’s infancy and far from reliable. But from those early and difficult beginnings we managed to ‘bundle’ together our first site. No, we're not going to show it you!

However, not happy with the finished article, we undertook an intensive course in web development in an attempt to improve our design and building skills and soon a second, then a third site came to fruition and It was not long before our designs and website's were appreciated by not only friends and acquaintances, but other businesses who began to turn to us for help and advice and often, commissioning a website.

It soon became obvious that there was a market for good, honest, value for money custom web design, so, with offers of work pouring in, we threw caution to the wind and gave up photography to pursue our newly 'found' talent.

Now in its 7th year, the business continues to grow and top designers and script writers have been engaged to work with us on projects that offer everything from the simple ‘shop window’ and full e-commerce catalogues. Our client list ranges from the small one man businesses to the NHS.

Early 2007 sees us move into purpose built offices in the heart of Derby City Centre allowing us to offer custom web design to an even wider audience.
